Easy Carolina Fried Oysters

Raw oysters
2 teaspoons salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon pepper
2 cups cornmeal
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt

2 cups cornmeal
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon sugar
Drain oysters and soak in egg mixture. Mix corn meal, sugar, salt, pepper and flour, then dip oysters in the mixture. Fry oysters in deep shortening until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
