About Us
Saltwater Seafood Market & Fry Shack
Saltwater Seafood and Fry Shack is a family-owned business located at 4 Fenton Street (at the corner of Capital Boulevard and Fenton Street) where we provide fresh seafood on a daily basis to the Raleigh area.
Saltwater Seafood has been an Earp family-owned institution for over a decade, but with fifty years and three generations of experience in the seafood world, it’s far from our first time in the industry. Owned by Mike Earp and Mike’s wife Debbie, the Earp family is dedicated to providing the Raleigh area with the freshest and highest quality seafood that you can find this far inland.
Mike Earp began working in seafood markets at just 12 years old, starting with their grandfather’s old store on South Saunders Street in Raleigh. Ever since those first years in the seafood business the family has been dedicated to providing only the best fish, oysters, clams, and more.
Saltwater Seafood and Fry Shack is one of the premium seafood markets in Raleigh, specializing in a rotating fresh inventory and guaranteed customer satisfaction. Our team sources our seafood daily from fishermen up and down regional and nearby coasts, including the waters of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We’re committed to supporting local fishermen and sourcing only the freshest and highest quality seafood for miles around.
At Saltwater Seafood, people can take fresh seafood home and cook it for themselves or get their seafood cooked on the premise for carry out. Just the smell of the fish cooking is enough to make you want to stop by the Fry Shack counter where Debbie is often found cooking up a nice hot serving of fish or shrimp for customers.
From the very beginning, Saltwater Seafood and Fry Shack has been a family business. The Earp family source quality products and go above and beyond to deliver top-notch service. That’s why you’ll often find Mike and Debbie working overtime behind the counter at the market and personally talking to vendors and customers to ensure quality seafood and the highest level of satisfaction.
The Earp family maintains this level of connection and quality by prioritizing communication with vendors and customers — we know that we wouldn’t be able to stay in business without them. Every order and purchase is done in-person or over the phone — there are no online orders, texts, or emails. By doing so, the Saltwater Seafood team is able to build lasting bonds with customers and vendors that extend beyond virtual or digital business transactions.
Make sure that you call-in to the store to order, stop in and say hi to us, and join the Saltwater Seafood email list to keep up with the latest weekly specials.
